2017 is a special year, not just because it’s Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, but because it is also the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Between April 9 and 12, 1917, members of four divisions of the Canadian Corps successfully took control of the ridge, but at a huge cost: 10,602 casualties. (3,598 killed and 7,004 wounded.) By the end of World War I, more than 66,000 Canadian soldiers lost their lives and over 170,000 were wounded.

While the sacrifices made at Vimy ridge were 100 years ago, there are still Canadian men and women who continue to serve and sacrifice their lives today.

We hope you will help us close out 2017 by helping show our thanks though this year’s food drive.
